‘Fuair mo athair bás sé bliain ó shin.Uair amháin thugamar anseo é ar feadh seachtaine. Bhí sé ag cur báistí gach lá ar feadh an lae ar fad. Thógamar é ar thuras timpeall Ceann Sléibhe agus tháinig an ghrian amach agus sinn ag casadh an chúinne.
'Tá cuimhne orm air go dtí an lá atá inniu ann. Ba é sin an t-aon uair a bhí sé anseo liom. Tá áthas orm gur chuir sé aithne ar an áit a chuir mé fúm go buan agus go bhfuilim sásta anseo. Shíl sé go raibh sé iontach.’
‘My father died six years ago. One time we brought him down here for a week. It rained all day, every day. We took him for a spin around Slea Head and as we rounded the corner the sun came out.
'I can still remember him to this day — it was like heaven. That was his only time down here with me. I am glad that he knows where I settled and knew that I’m happy here. He thought it was amazing.’
